ICYMI: Suozzi & Gillen’s shutdown may delay your flood insurance
In case you missed it, the NRCC launched a paid ad campaign targeting Tom Suozzi and Laura Gillen for voting to shut down the government, risking Long Islanders’ access to flood insurance.

It’s hurricane season, but with the government shut down, homeowners and buyers have been hung out to dry due to Suozzi and Gillen’s petty politics. They cannot renew their insurance policies, and approximately 1,400 home sales per day are impacted.
“Long Islanders deserve representatives who care about their safety and financial stability. By voting to shut down the government and risk people’s homes and livelihoods, Tom Suozzi and Laura Gillen proved they couldn’t care less.” — NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole

Republicans say the Democratic proposed funding measure would result in billions of dollars spent on healthcare for illegal immigrants over the next decade.
