Bridget Brink Bankrolled by Soros & Out-of-Staters
Out of town and out of touch Democrat Bridget Brink raised more than 90% of her cash from outside of Michigan.
Brink raked in more money from Utah, New York, California, and Illinois while accepting cash from George Soros and a billionaire with a racist history.

“Democrat Bridget Brink hitching her wagon to liberal mega donor George Soros and a billionaire with a racist history tells you everything you need to know about her values. Out of town Bridget Brink continues to prove just how out of touch she is with Michiganders.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Bannon

Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink, who recently moved to Lansing, is receiving significant support in her Democratic bid to unseat Republican Congressman Tom Barrett, with the majority of it coming from Utah.
Brink’s second quarter 2025 campaign finance report shows she collected 94.9% of her itemized donations from out-of-state, with $354,187 coming from 306 donors. The bulk came from the Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, region at $75,279, followed by Chicago at $47,513, and New York City at $43,751.
Those contributions compared to $19,217.75 in donations from just 29 Michiganders during the same time frame.
The trend continued through the third quarter, when Brink raked in 91.6% of her donations from other states. Of the $448,213 Brink’s campaign took in, $93,500, or 19.1% came from Utah, $76,060, or 15.5% from New York, $44,580 from California, $44,503 from Illinois, $37,500 from Maryland, and $26,325 from Washington, D.C.
Just $41,336, or 8.4% of what Brink raised in the third quarter, came from 107 donors in Michigan, or less than half of what flowed to her campaign from Utah.

The Utah connection stems from a friendship with Dell Loy Hansen, founder of the real estate company Wasatch Group, and former owner of the Real Salt Lake Major League Soccer team, according to The News.
Hansen himself directly gave Brink the maximum donation of $7,000 this year, while 16 individuals employed by his companies in Utah gave a total of $56,500 in the third quarter alone, or over $15,000 more than she collected in Michigan during the same quarter.
While Hansen partnered with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Utah-based nonprofit To Ukraine With Love to build a village for those displaced by the war with Russia, he also faced allegations of racism as owner of Real Salt Lake that forced him to sell his stake in the team.
The allegations included crude comments about hanging minorities, using the N-word, and remarks about mistaking minority players for thugs, The Athletic reported in 2020.
Brink’s other notable donations during the third quarter came from George and Alexander Soros, billionaire political activists who fund progressive causes, who both contributed $3,500 to her campaign.
