Suozzi & Gillen Reject Millions for Rural Healthcare in New York

January 16, 2026

Today, President Trump highlighted the rural healthcare fund that Republicans established for the American people. New York is set to receive nearly $215 million in critical funding to keep rural hospitals open, expand access to care, and ensure families aren’t forced to travel hours for basic medical services.

Vulnerable Democrats Tom Suozzi and Laura Gillen voted against this funding, endangering rural hospitals in New York and across the country.

“Tom Suozzi and Laura Gillen’s vote against critical healthcare funding for New York communities is a slap in the face to New Yorkers who continue to be ignored by Democrats. While Republicans deliver results, Suozzi and Gillen continue to play partisan political games.” – NRCC Spokesman Maureen O’Toole
