Vasquez Rejects Millions for Rural Healthcare in New Mexico

January 16, 2026

Today, President Trump highlighted the rural healthcare fund that Republicans established for the American people. New Mexico is set to receive nearly $215 million in critical funding to keep rural hospitals open, expand access to care, and ensure families aren’t forced to travel hours for basic medical services.

Vulnerable Democrat Gabe Vasquez voted against this funding, endangering rural hospitals in New Mexico and across the country.

“Gabe Vasquez’s vote against critical healthcare funding for New Mexico communities is a slap in the face to New Mexicans who continue to be ignored by Democrats. While Republicans deliver results, Vasquez continues to play partisan political games.” – NRCC Spokesman Reilly Richardson
