NRCC Statement on IN-01

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released the following statement on Indiana’s 1st Congressional District primary election: 

“Barb Regnitz is a trusted local leader who has a proven record of fighting for common sense and always putting her community first, while free-loading Frank Mrvan sold out his constituents to appease radical, far-left lunatics and wine and dine in Washington. Regnitz is poised to flip Northwest Indiana red and deliver real representation to hardworking Hoosiers.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Bannon

BACKGROUND

• IN-01 has shifted to the right roughly 12% since 2016.
• President Trump has increased his margins in Lake County by nearly 15% in since 2016.
• In 2020, Trump won Porter County by 7% and in 2024 he increased that margin to win by over 10%.
  • Barb Regnitz served on the Porter County Board of Commissioners, a critical Republican base in IN-01.
