🛒 GROCERIES GONE BAD: New Yorkers Are Funding a Socialist Free-For-All

August 4, 2026

Thanks to Kathy Hochul, New Yorkers from every corner of the state were forced to fund an $8 billion bailout for NYC so that Zohran Mamdani could open city-run grocery stores.

Now, we’re learning that Mamdani won’t be verifying shoppers’ residency, meaning anyone, including non-New Yorkers, can buy in bulk from the discounted stores. The stores are costing New Yorkers $70 million for construction alone; clearly, that’s just the tip of the iceberg…

And taxpayers have cowardly NY Democrats, like Josh Riley, to thank for the wasteful spending, as Riley has stood idly by while Mamdani calls the shots.

“Zohran Mamdani’s socialist, city-run grocery stores are proving to be yet another strain on New York taxpayers. Upstate voters cannot afford another boondoggle that puts NYC and out-of-staters first. And they deserve a representative who, unlike Josh Riley, has the backbone to fight for them.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole
