Adam Gray’s Gas Tax Deal Lined His Family’s Pockets While Californians Paid at the Pump

Self-serving Adam Gray helped stick higher gas taxes on Californians. His family’s construction business found something to celebrate.

A new report reveals Gray’s 2017 gas tax deal included $100 million for a Merced expressway. That road enabled a commercial development where his cousin’s company, Marvulli Inc., landed construction work, including a $36 million hotel.

Gray disclosed $366,112 in salary from that company. His latest filing lists an ownership stake worth up to $500,000, along with between $50,001 and $100,000 in profit distributions for 2025.

Higher costs for drivers. A lucrative relationship for Gray.
