The NRA Makes it Clear, Radical Matt Dunlap Can’t be Trusted to Protect 2A Rights

October 20, 2026

The National Rifle Association made it clear that radical Matt Dunlap cannot be trusted to protect Mainers’ Second Amendment rights, saying, “Maine gun owners have every right to be concerned and confused about where Matt Dunlap stands on the Second Amendment.”

The group went on to note that Dunlap’s campaign is bankrolled by anti-Second Amendment organizations, he’s proudly campaigned with gun-grabbers, and he even supports extending federal background-check delays on gun purchases.

Mainers deserve a representative who will actually stand up for their right to bear arms, and that’s why the NRA endorsed Governor Paul LePage.

“Don’t take our word for it, take the NRA’s: Matt Dunlap cannot be trusted to stand up for Maine gun owners. That’s why the group endorsed Paul LePage, and it’s why voters will reject Dunlap two weeks from today.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole
