BREAKING: Kathy Castor Hit With Ethics Complaint for Misusing Official Resources

October 22, 2026

Radical Democrat Kathy Castor was just hit with an Ethics complaint, after blatantly using her official office resources for campaign purposes.

And this isn’t the first time there have been calls for an investigation into Castor. In 2021, Castor violated federal law by failing to disclose tens of thousands of dollars in stock trades on time…

“Kathy Castor has spent nearly two decades in Congress, but apparently, she still doesn’t understand that the law applies to her. From violating the STOCK Act to now facing an ethics complaint for abusing taxpayer-funded resources, Castor continues to show a disturbing pattern of playing by her own rules. Tampa families deserve accountability, not another career politician treating public office like her personal campaign operation.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole

A complaint was filed with the House Ethics Committee alleging Democratic U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor wrongly talked politics on her official social media account.

A document sent to the committee by Lithia resident Joslyn Bouche flags that Castor, following a debate with Republican challenger Mike Beltran, commented on a post about the race.

The House Ethics Manual prohibits using official accounts for campaign communications. It says any official communications channels “must, as a general rule, be used for the performance of official business of the House, and hence those resources may not be used for campaign or political purposes.”

Bouche said discussion about a debate between Castor and her political opponent, done in the course of campaigning and not her work as a Congresswoman, crosses the line.

“Taxpayers expect their representatives to use resources for the purposes in which they are allotted, which do not include helping election efforts,” Bouche wrote in her complaint.

“Rep. Castor seemingly crossed the line between permissible official constituent communications and impermissible campaign-related activity by leveraging an official congressional resource to highlight her campaign. As such, Complainant requests that your committee immediately investigate Rep. Castor and her staff’s actions concerning this use of official resources.”
