Soooo is Mike Derrick officially depressed?

“It’s a little depressing, frankly – not a little depressing, a lot depressing.” –That’s what NY-21 Democrat Mike Derrick said about his fundraising in late December.  And now that we have seen his FEC report showing that he only has $138,610 cash on hand, we couldn’t agree more.

We also agree with Derrick when he said, “Money raised this year unlocks other monies next year, if this campaign is evaluated as viable and gaining in momentum.”  That whole “viability” thing and “gaining momentum” sure isn’t looking too hot.

NRCC Comment: “Mike Derrick said himself that he needed to have a good fundraising quarter be a viable candidate in New York’s 21^st District and that certainly did not happen.  Derrick’s poor fundraising quarter will make it even more difficult for the DCCC to try to say with a straight face that NY-21 is actually a pickup opportunity for Democrats this November.” –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
