NRCC Weekly Rundown: DCCC chicanery screws vulnerable Dems
Here’s
this week’s edition of the NRCC Weekly Rundown:
(National)
In
case you missed it, vulnerable House Democrats are lashing out at the DCCC
for leaving them out to dry following their disastrous votes to remove President
Trump from office. According to POLITICO, Reps. Joe
Cunningham and Anthony Brindisi, “are spending precious resources on
TV ads to defend themselves.” Yikes! Not a good sign for November…
(National)
In
a shocking move, 86 House Democrats voted AGAINST a bipartisan
bill to extend a ban on fentanyl this week, which kills over 32,000 Americans a year. Apparently,
these 86 Democrats opposed the legislation because it was too tough on drug
dealers and would “send more people to prison.” I guess drug dealers and deadly
terrorists are two groups House Democrats refuse to get tough on…
(National)
Thanks
to Cheri Bustos’ meddling, incumbents Henry Cuellar, Tom O’Halleran and Dan Lipinski are in a fight
for their political careers. De facto Speaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez released
another eye-popping round of fundraising, and due to the DCCC’s blacklisting of progressive candidates, AOC has promised to ensure the progressive
challengers taking on her Democrat colleagues will have the money they need to
win. The NRCC’s excited to sit back and watch the socialist House
Democrats destroy each other in expensive primary races to the left!
(AK-AL) The DCCC is
desperately pushing retread
recruitment fail Alyse Galvin as a real candidate in Alaska. Despite
outraising Don Young in 2018 – a banner year for Democrats – Galvin
still lost to Young by SEVEN points. Galvin won’t fare
any better in 2020 with President Trump at the top of the ticket
considering he won Alaska by 14.7 percent! How embarrassing.
(CA-25)
Christy Smith wants you to know her
campaign for Congress doesn’t accept corporate PAC money. But, as Christy explained on Twitter this week, she’s perfectly
fine taking corporate PAC and lobbyist money when running for State Assembly
because it’s a state race NOT a federal race. What a lame excuse, and what a
hypocrite!
(FL-16)
Margaret Good’s campaign is failing miserably with a new fundraising email
showing her begging campaign staff for money. This after Good was outraised last
quarter, her top donor jumped ship, and a poll
showed her losing badly. No wonder the
press thinks she should drop out…
(GA-06)
Lyin’ Lucy McBath just can’t stop lying to Georgians! She recently decried dark money
and Citizens United, butconveniently left out that she worked for Everytown for Gun
Safety Action Fund, a 501(c)4 dark money group that spent over a million dollars on her
behalf. REMINDER: This isn’t the first time Lucy has lied about
her dark money ties. The AJC noted McBath lied repeatedly during a debate,
claiming the fund was not a dark money group.
(IA-01,
IA-03) Democrat Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller is preparing to let
serial child molester Joseph Matthew Smith (a man who molested as many
as 15 victims ranging from 1 to 13 years of age) go free because Smith
now identifies as a woman. It might be worth asking Abby Finkenauer and Cindy
Axne their thoughts on the case considering they both favor legislation
that allowed the
placement of biological men in women’s prisons if they identify as such. Will Finkenauer
and Axne side with their fellow Democrats or with the children Miller
is about to let a serial sex offender prey on?
(IL-06) This week, Sean
Casten voted AGAINST a
bipartisan measure to extend a federal ban on fentanyl – a synthetic opioid
that in one year killed over 32,000 Americans.
His reason? The bill was apparently too tough on drug dealers. In Illinois,
fentanyl has taken 1,300 lives. In Cook County
alone, 202 lives were lost to fentanyl.
But Sean Casten is more worried about…drug dealers.
(IL-14)
Fake Nurse Lauren Underwood alsovoted AGAINST the
bipartisan bill extending a federal ban on fentanyl because it was too tough on drug dealers. Nationally,
death rates from these drugs have increased by 1,125% between 2011 and 2017
and in Illinois, 1,300 families have lost a loved one
to fentanyl. The Fake Nurse feigns outrage over the
opioid crisis, but her concern is as fake as her nursing career! She’d rather
protect drug dealers than Illinois families.
(MI-06) Socialist Jon
Hoadley is inexplicably touting his endorsement from the
socialist Progressive Change Campaign Committee. Hoadley is betting his support
for socialist policies like the Green New Deal, eliminating private insurance and impeachment will lead him to
victory in a district President Trump won by 9 points. Good luck with that,
Jon!
(MN-02) As states across
the country legalize abortion up
until the moment of birth, abortion extremist Angie Craig
claimed
the opposite, saying “there is no such thing as an abortion up
until birth.” Click HERE to see just how well Angie’s
lies went over with her constituents.
(MN-07) The ol’
retirement speculation machine is spinning again after Cranky
Collin Peterson reportedly raised a mere $157,000 in the last quarter of
2019. Peterson, who chairs the House Agriculture Committee, was also a no show at the White
House signing ceremony of the USMCA this week. Obviously Cranky Collin
thinks he’s too good to represent Minnesota farmers. Maybe it’s time for him to
pack his things and go.
(NV-04) You can’t see it, smell it or taste it. It is 20 times
to 40 times more potent than heroin, and
100 times more potent than morphine. Ingesting even the smallest amount can be enough to
kill the average adult. What substance am I talking about? Fentanyl. And
this week Steven Horford joined his socialist colleagues in
voting AGAINST a bipartisan measure banning
it. The reason? The legislation was too tough on drug dealers. I wonder if the
families of Nevadans who lost loved ones to fentanyl see it the same way, Steven.
(NY-02) Now that national
Democrats are proudly touting Jackie
Gordon as their savior in NY-02, it’s time she let Long Island voters know
where she stands on the issues that matter. Does she agree with New
York’s disastrous bail reform policy that
allows dangerous criminals, drug dealers and drunk drivers back on the
streets? What about New York’s law allowing illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses? We look forward
to hearing where you stand,
Jackie!
(NY-24)
Dana Balter, Francis Conole and Roger Misso have refused to speak out on New
York Dems’ disastrous bail reform policy that’s
putting dangerous criminals, drug dealers and drunk drivers back on the
streets. Do Balter, Conole and Misso believe these violent
criminals belong behind bars? Or will they continue to dodge the question and whine about subject lines of NRCC press
releases? Central New York residents deserve to know if these [CENSORED] Democrats
support this disastrous bail policy that is putting communities at risk.
(NY-27) Last night
Western New York Democrats endorsed Socialist
Loser* Nate McMurray in the race for New York’s 27th Congressional
District. It’s important to note McMurray is a proud supporter of his
party’s radical socialist agenda, including:
- Government-run health care
- The baseless impeachment of President Trump
- Open borders
- Restricting Second Amendment rights
REMINDER: NY-27 is an R+11 district that President Trump
won handily in 2016. McMurray’s deranged if he thinks he won’t be rejected by
Western New York voters again.
(PA-01) At a recent
Democrat forum, Christina Finello admitted she’s “been
called a progressive on a lot of issues.” But what issues exactly? PA-01 voters
deserve to know: Does Finello support the Green New Deal, Medicare for
All, free college and the rest of the Democrats’ socialist agenda? It’s time to
come clean! And while you’re at it, Christina, can you explain why you
touted an endorsement from Fred
Weiss, who implied Levittown residents aren’t “sensible” and Upper Bucks
residents aren’t “smart”?
(PA-17) Over the
weekend, Conor Lamb took issue with voters questioning his
absolute commitment to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, but the numbers don’t lie! In Washington, Lamb
has voted with Pelosi 98% of the time, backing her
baseless efforts to remove President Trump from office along with the
rest of the Democrats’ socialist, job-killing agenda. And what’s Lamb’s reward
for selling out PA-17 voters? A high-dollar fundraiser headlined
by Pelosi to line his campaign coffers, of course!
(SC-01) On the campaign
trail, Joe Cunningham hated lobbyists (HERE, HERE, and HERE). But, as soon as he got to the
swamp, Joe hired THREE DC lobbyists,
including his Chief of Staff. Now it turns out Cunningham promoted one of
those DC lobbyists to Deputy Chief of Staff! Odd way of showing you despise lobbyists, Joe.
(Texas) National
Democrats went all in on Texas’ HD-28, an open
seat located in the fastest growing sections of TX-22. And boy did they
get embarrassed! Despite
campaign stops by Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Mike Bloomberg
and Beto O’Rourke while
lighting piles of cash on fire,
the Democrat candidate lost HD-28 by 16 points. The Democratic Legislative
Campaign Committee even went so far as to call the race “a key
bellwether for the 2020 elections in the newly-minted swing state.” So, next
time the DCCC tries to sell you on their prospects in solidly Republican districts
in the Lone Star State, remember the HD-28 debacle.
(TX-07) At a town hall
last weekend Lizzie Fletcher attempted to give the illusion of being responsive
to constituents. But, when voters arrived, they were shocked to discover a
tightly choreographed event where Fletcher’s staff hand-picked the
questions she would answer. At the end of the town hall one man even
shouted, “Why didn’t the invitation indicate that this was a
Democrats-only meeting? I didn’t hear from any Republicans. My question wasn’t
available!” Click HERE to read the full story from
The Texan.
(TX-24) Democrats in
Washington are growing concerned about the prospect of nominating disgraced war profiteer Kim
Olson in TX-24. So instead, they’ve decided to rally around lefty local
school board member, Candace Valenzuela. Valenzuela’s latest backer
is Elizabeth Warren, who shares Valenzuela’s
enthusiasm for gun bans, taxpayer-funded abortion and destroying oil and gas jobs. Valenzuela
has also been endorsed by Emily’s List and
the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. While these
endorsements may go a long way in a Democrat primary, they’ll be a kiss of death in November!
(TX-28) I’m just going to
leave this right here: Henry Cuellar is screwed.
(UT-04)
Ben McAdams just endorsed billionaire
Michael Bloomberg. The same Michael Bloomberg who just donated $10 million to House
Majority Forward, a dark money group that’s promised to spend millions in Utah
in 2020. In fact, House Majority Forward has already spent $326,091 this cycle
propping up McAdams with TV ads. Utahns deserve better than a corrupt
congressman who will sell his endorsement to the highest bidder
(Virginia)
This
weekend marks the beginning of Black History month and the 1-year anniversary
of Ralph Northam’s blackface scandal. But:
- Northam is still in office.
- AG Mark Herring, who also wore blackface is still in office.
- Alleged serial rapist LG Justin Fairfax is still around too.
- And Elaine Luria and Abigail Spanberger believe Fairfax is a serial rapist but still won’t return his donations.
Happy Anniversary!
(VA-10) Before Jennifer
Wexton came to Washington she mourned those who
lost their lives to drug addiction. But this week she forgot all about that and
voted AGAINST a
bipartisan measure banning fentanyl, a synthetic opioid more than 20 times more potent
than heroin. Liberals, like Wexton, say the legislation was too tough on drug dealers. Clearly
Washington has changed Jennifer Wexton!
(WA-03) It’s hard to
believe Carolyn Long is worried about our
country’s deficit when she supports Medicare for All.
Especially since Long
claims she supports tax cuts, too! Experts have found a
deficit-neutral Medicare for All plan would result in 72% of American families
paying higher taxes. So, what’s Long’s plan to lower the deficit while
supporting Medicare for All WITHOUT raising taxes? HINT: She doesn’t
have a plan. She’s a desperate retread candidate willing to
say anything to get elected.
News & Notes
Impeachment already becoming political weapon in 2020 congressional races
Despite having members in 31 congressional districts that President Trump
carried in 2016, House Democrats showed surprising party unity in the December
vote to impeach him — but the saga that has gripped Washington could carry a
big political risk come November.
On the Senate side, moderate GOP senators essentially face the prospect of
political backlash no matter what they do. But on the House side, Republicans
already are gearing up to use impeachment as a cudgel against the
swing-district Democrats who supported it.
For instance, Democratic Rep. Matt Cartwright is in Pennsylvania’s 8th
Congressional District, which Trump carried by 53-44 percent in 2016. After
Cartwright voted for both articles of impeachment, the Cook Political Report
moved his seat from “lean Democrat” to a “toss-up.”
Where the Democratic majority could face real challenges is in the dozen
districts where Trump won an actual majority of votes in a year when
third-party candidates pulled in more than 1 percent of the vote — and about a
half-dozen districts where he won by, or nearly by, double digits.
“Democrats hold more seats in Republican areas than vice versa. Impeachment is
unpopular in battleground districts,” Michael McAdams, the national press
secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee, told Fox News. READ.
Record-Shattering Numbers Of Republican Women Are Running For Office Under
Trump: ‘Our Voices Are Not Being Heard’
Record-shattering numbers of Republican women are running for office under
President Donald Trump, saying that they believe their voices are not being
represented and that they must stand up to Democratic socialism.
The number of Republican women who have filed for 2020 “shatters all previous
records,” National Republican Congressional Committee communications director
Chris Pack told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Two hundred women, 164 minorities, and 214 veterans have filed to run as
Republicans in 2020 House races – and Pack says they expect more to file in
states where filing is still open.
“Chairman Tom Emmer has placed a strong emphasis on recruiting a diverse slate
of candidates that reflects the Republican Party at the grassroots level,” Pack
explained. “These candidates see the extreme socialist agenda of the Democrat
Party and are stepping up to the plate to do something about it.” READ.
