Hakeem’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week

February 14, 2025

TGIF, it’s been a rough week for Democratic “Leader” Hakeem Jeffries.

“Hakeem’s ‘leadership’ this week has been a masterclass in political self-sabotage, from attempting to disenfranchise voters to issuing a rambling letter of desperation. Bonus points for alienating his far-left base and making it clear he’s just as effective as a screen door on a submarine.” – NRCC Communications Director Will Kiley.

On Monday, Hakeem’s scheme to disenfranchise nearly 800,000 votes in New York’s 21st District fell apart following mounting pressure from the people that a prolonged vacant seat would hurt the most (the voters!).

On Tuesday, Hakeem issued a nonsensical and rambling letter in a desperate attempt to save his leadership position. The letter’s highlights included the creation of a rapid response task force led by some of the Caucus’ younger members, including Rosa DeLauro and Gerry Connolly.

Also on Tuesday (yes, the same day as above), Hakeem started hearing from his rank-and-file during weekly group therapy sessions that wacky progressive groups like MoveOn and Indivisible were mean to them and said they were bad at their jobs. For the record, we agree.

On Wednesday, the groups Hakeem is afraid of called him out again. Should be fun!

On Thursday, 155 Democrats followed “Leader” Jeffries off a cliff and opposed a commonsense bill to protect law enforcement and border patrol.

On Thursday night, Hakeem joined activist Joy Reid to declare House Democrats “are in lockstep” with groups like Indivisible, who have previously called for defunding the police.

As a reminder, Hakeem is leading the same group who lied about Joe Biden’s mental fitness and leadership for years before turning on him the second bad polling came out.
