Henry Cuellar voted against ICE and Border Patrol Funding

June 13, 2025

Out of touch Democrat Henry Cuellar claims he doesn’t support reducing ICE funding, but his voting record tells a different story.

Henry Cuellar voted AGAINST the largest investment in border security in a generation which had funding for both U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Henry Cuellar voted AGAINST:

  • $8 billion to hire 10,000 new ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers, 1,000 new Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) criminal investigators, and 750 support staff
  • $45 billion to expand ICE detention capacity
  • $1.32 billion to hire 2,700 new ICE Office of Principal Legal Advisor (OPLA) attorneys to expedite removal proceedings
  • $4.1 billion for 3,000 new border patrol agents, 5,000 new office of field operations customs officer, 200 new AMO agents, 290 support staff, and eligible retired agents and officers

“Out of touch Democrat Henry Cuellar talks a big game, but his vote against funding ICE and Border Patrol says it all. Less safety for Texas, more lies from Washington.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Bannon
