Maggie Goodlander wants taxpayer-funded health care for able-bodied adults refusing to work
DC insider Maggie Goodlander just admitted she’s perfectly fine with letting people collect taxpayer-funded benefits without working. That may fly in DC, but it’s completely out of touch with hardworking families across New Hampshire.
“Granite Staters believe in work, responsibility, and fairness. Maggie Goodlander’s comments show just how out of touch she is with her constituents, once again putting her DC agenda ahead of New Hampshire values.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole
Background:
A July poll conducted by NH Journal/Praecones Analytics found that 64 percent of New Hampshire respondents support work requirements for able-bodied adults receiving Medicaid, while just 20 percent disapprove. A May poll conducted by the Center for Excellence in Polling found that 73 percent of likely voters support requiring able-bodied adults with no young children at home to work, train, or volunteer at least part-time to maintain Medicaid eligibility.
