Kristen McDonald Rivet Bends to Party Bosses, Choses Politics Over Michiganders

Last week, out of touch Democrat Kristen McDonald Rivet voted to shut down the government and sell out Michiganders.

Her reckless vote could put Michiganders directly in harm’s way:

• Threatening families’ safety due to law enforcement officers, members of the military, and TSA workers may be forced to work without pay.
• Blocking 38,829 veterans from accessing critical programs, including employment assistance.
• Forcing  4,401 federal workers in MI-08 to work without pay.
• Jeopardizing millions in loan financing for the state’s 983,079 small businesses.
• Limiting access to financial assistance, including disaster relief, for 5,130 farmers.
• Endangering funding for the Head Start program that serves 18,509 children in Michigan. 

Bottom line: Kristen McDonald Rivet put a partisan stunt ahead of the livelihoods of everyday Michiganders.
