Vicente Gonzalez Thinks Troops Don’t Deserve Pay

September 22, 2025

Last week, out of touch Democrat Vicente Gonzalez voted to shut down the government and sell out Texans.

His reckless vote could put Texans directly in harm’s way:

  • Threatening families’ safety due to law enforcement officers, members of the military, and TSA workers potentially being forced to work without pay.
  • Blocking 21,346 veterans from accessing critical programs, including employment assistance.
  • Forcing  10,013 federal workers in TX-34 to work without pay.
  • Jeopardizing millions in loan financing for Texas’ 3.5 million small businesses.
  • Limiting access to financial assistance, including disaster relief, for 4,520 farmers.
  • Endangering funding for the Head Start program that serves 47,286 children in Texas.

Bottom line: Gonzalez put a partisan stunt ahead of the livelihoods of everyday Texans.

“Instead of standing for Texans, out of touch Democrat Vicente Gonzalez voted to bring the government to a grinding halt, holding Texans hostage. Texans won’t forgive this betrayal.” – NRCC Spokesman Reilly Richardson
