Congressman Tom Barrett is once again delivering real results for mid-Michigan.
Congressman Barrett secured nearly $4.1 million for community projects throughout Michigan’s 7th congressional district, which included millions for agricultural research at Michigan State University.

More federal funding is headed to Michigan State University to support agriculture research at the recently renovated MSU Plant Science Research Greenhouse Facility.
This month, Rep. Tom Barrett helped secure $4.1 million in government funding via H.R. 5371, with $3 million earmarked for repairs and maintenance at MSU’s greenhouses.
“Our more than 100-year partnership with (Agricultural Research Station) has been dedicated to advancing U.S. agriculture,” George Smith, director of AgBioResearch at MSU, wrote Nov. 19 on LinkedIn. “This infrastructure will help advance the partnership into the future, bolster MSU leadership in the field, recruit and retain talented faculty, provide research opportunities for students, and support Michigan’s quality of life and robust agriculture industries.”

“We appreciate Rep. Barrett’s support for this new ARS funding, which continues efforts to bring the greenhouse facilities up to world-class plant science standards,” Smith added in a statement.
