Amish Shah Confessed He’s Running Even More To The Left In 2026

May 26, 2026

Democrat Amish Shah confessed he’s running even more to the left in 2026, newly-reported footage of a local Democrat meeting revealed.

Shah said the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) told him he was “too nice.”  His response?  “Challenge accepted.”

Now Shah has gone full Trump Derangement Syndrome: “I’m not hesitating one bit to use, you know, my platform to be able to prosecute as vigorously as I can sometimes with, you know, expletives and whatever it takes” because he said Trump “is so horrible.”  WATCH:

In case you missed it…

NOTE: The National Republican Congressional Committee, the Republican equivalent of the DCCC, has accused the DCCC of “meddling” in the CD1 primary race and fueling conflict between Shah and Galán-Woods to a point where it’s presented “liabilities” for Democrats in the general election.

“Democrat Amish Shah said he lost because Biden and Harris were toxic, then ran even further left by calling for massive tax increases, socialism and open borders. Amish Shah’s radical statements will haunt him long after this race to the far-left primary,” NRCC Spokesperson Ben Petersen told the Yellow Sheet Report.

Amish Shah had never lost an election for public office in Arizona until he faced U.S. Rep. David Schweikert in Congressional District 1. Now, with Schweikert foregoing a return to Congress to run for Arizona governor, Shah is once again making a run at the same congressional seat he lost in 2024.

During a Congressional District 1 Zoom candidate forum hosted by the Legislative District 3 Democrats on April 29, Shah, a four-term Democrat in the state House, reflected on his 2024 loss and told attendees that he plans to do things a little differently this election cycle.

Shah attributed his loss to three factors: underperformance at the top of the ticket with former Vice President Kamala Harris in her presidential race; the late Arizona primary election date giving candidates a shorter amount of time to campaign for the general election; and groups such as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee telling him he was too nice during his campaign — leading Shah to accept a challenge to use expletives to “prosecute (President Donald Trump and Republicans) as vigorously” as he could.

“Kamala Harris and Joe Biden were not popular, and the issues that came up in CD1 were immigration and inflation,” Shah said during the online forum. “When Kamala Harris performed at the level she did, it wasn’t just me.”

Shah referenced other Democratic candidates in the northeast valley area who lost their competitive races that year, including former Sen. Christine Marsh and House candidates Kelli Butler and Karen Gresham. Contextually, Republicans flipped Legislative District 4 completely in 2024 despite having only one House seat before the election.

February polling from HighGround Public Affairs Consultants indicated almost a third of Democrats surveyed in CD1 supported Shah while 11% supported his opponent, Marlene Galán-Woods. Almost half of respondents in that poll said they were undecided.

As evidence of Shah’s support for “tax increases, socialism and open borders,” the NRCC pointed to Shah’s opposition to Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, H.R. 1, his support for universal healthcare and lowering premiums, and calling Trump’s border and immigration policies “lawless.”
