NRCC Statement on SD-AL

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released the following statement on South Dakota’s At-Large Congressional District primary election:

BACKGROUND

• President Trump won in 2024 by 29.2% while receiving 63.4% of the vote, the largest share since Dwight Eisenhower in 1952.
• Republicans make up over 50% of all registered voters and hold a nearly 2-to-1 voter registration advantage. 
• Democrats have not won more than 40% of the vote in a U.S. House election since 2012.
