The Big Apple’s Big Problem: Mamdani’s Letting Out Criminals and Letting Go of Cops

In a surprise to no one, police-hating Zohran Mamdani is hard at work putting violent criminals back on the streets and keeping cops off of them.

This week, Mamdani announced the closure of a Rikers facility, a “major step” toward eventually closing the whole thing. Keep in mind that Rikers holds the worst of the worst, with 95% of inmates facing “felony charges, mostly for murder or another violent offense.”

And this closure comes as Mamdani reneged on his promise to add almost 600 new NYPD officers to the force, a necessary move given “the massive summer workload is just starting to hit,” and the City has fewer officers than it did on 9/11.

All this chaos is thanks to the cowardice of Democrats like Tom Suozzi and Laura Gillen. Instead of standing up to Mamdani and fighting for safety, they are bowing down to his socialist agenda.
