Democrat Poll: John Braun Beats Fraud Marie as Her Base Collapses

A poll from one of Washington’s most reliably far-left outfits just handed Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Washougal) the worst possible headline heading into her reelection fight.

The Northwest Progressive Institute, run by a delegate to the Washington State Democratic Central Committee, found Republican John Braun leading the Democratic incumbent in every version of the WA-03 ballot it tested. Her own side’s pollster could not find her a lead.

NPI reported that most uncommitted voters in the district are Democrats and independents, not Republicans, who have largely consolidated behind Braun. Just 4% of Republicans were undecided in the final matchup, compared with 14% of Democrats and 14% of independents. The voters she still needs to win over are supposed to be hers already.

National Republicans wasted no time turning the left’s own poll into a weapon. NRCC spokesman Christian Martinez said so in a statement.

“Fraud Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is in political free fall, and even Democrats are abandoning her sinking campaign. Perez spent years conning Southwest Washington about who she really is, but voters have finally seen through the act. The scam is collapsing, her base is deserting her, and her political career is headed for the trash heap,” he said.
