Mike Derrick doesn’t like Fort Drum but likes funding terrorists

January 28, 2016

NY-21 candidate Mike Derrick recently attacked Elise Stefanik’s seat on the House Armed Services Committee, saying that it was a “wasted opportunity” for her to sit on that committee because she had “very thin experience.”  Let’s compare, shall we?

Elise Stefanik likes Fort Drum; Mike Derrick doesn’t.
Derrick supported Barack Obama vetoing the base’s funding, paycheck and pay raises for the base’s troops and protecting the base from closure.  Elise made sure that didn’t happen.

Elise Stefanik doesn’t like funding terrorists; Mike Derrick does.
Derrick supported Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran that John Kerry recently admitted will financially support terrorists who don’t like NY-21 and/or America.  Elise voted against that dangerous plan.

No wonder that The Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report said on Monday that Derrick is not a top-tier candidate and rated NY-21 as “Safe Republican.”

NRCC Comment:  “The next time Mike Derrick wants to take pot shots at Elise Stefanik for fighting for the North Country, he should first take a look at his own messed up positions.  Mike Derrick supported blocking funding for Fort Drum soldiers and supported Barack Obama’s nuclear deal that financially supports terrorist groups – enough said.” –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
