New Report Reveals Danger Of Morgan Carroll’s Push To Close GITMO

August 10, 2016

FlorenceWhile Morgan Carroll continues to push to close the detention facility at GITMO and open the door to bringing terrorist detainees to Colorado, a new report sheds light on just how dangerous this misguided policy really is.

The report details the activities of the dangerous terrorists still held at the facility, including al-Qaeda bomb makers, Osama bin Laden’s personal bodyguard, and 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. The Department of Defense has reported that 93% of the detainees still held at GITMO as of late last year were considered high risk for reengaging in terrorism, and U.S. officials have acknowledged that at least a dozen detainees previously released have gone on to launch subsequent attacks against Americans.

These are the type of dangerous detainees Morgan Carroll is willing to bring to Colorado, shamelessly putting politics ahead of the safety and security of Centennial State families.

NRCC Comment: “Morgan Carroll has been unwavering in her desire to close GITMO, even if it means transferring dangerous terrorists to Colorado. This new report underscores just how reckless and misguided Carroll’s support for closing GITMO really is.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
