Rick Nolan will have another opportunity to demonstrate how out of touch he is with 8th District voters at tonight’s debate, airing at 6:00PM (CT) on KSTP. Here are a few questions for Nolan to answer this evening:

  • Nolan recently reiterated his support for a plan to close GITMO and bring the dangerous terrorists held here to facilities on U.S. soil. Would he be willing to go so far as to transfer those terrorists to prisons in Minnesota?
  • At the last 8th District debate, Rick Nolan referred to the Iran nuclear deal as a “victory for diplomacy.” Would Nolan also like to clarify his position on the Obama administration’s cash ransom payment to the leading state sponsor of terrorism?
  • Governor Mark Dayton recently admitted that Obamacare had made health care unaffordable for many Minnesotans, but Rick Nolan continues to support the failed law. Does Rick Nolan disagree with Gov. Dayton, despite premiums increasing up to 67% next year for Minnesota families?
  • Rick Nolan poses as a friend of the 2nd Amendment in his campaign ads, despite his “F” rating from the NRA and his participation in anti-gun protests on the floor of the House. Why does Nolan say one thing back home, but do the opposite when he gets to Washington?

NRCC Comment: “Tonight’s debate will offer another opportunity for Minnesotans to see how out of touch Rick Nolan is with their concerns. On issues from national security to health care, Rick Nolan’s extreme positions are far to the left of Democrats in Congress, let alone 8th District voters.” – NRCC Spokesman Bob Salera
