The Truth About Tax Reform

In their attempts to block tax cuts for the middle class, Democrats—led by Nancy Pelosi—said a lot of nasty things.
What they said: “This is Armageddon.”
In reality:
- Unemployment reached its lowest level in 18 years: 3.8%
- GDP grew by 2.9%
- Job openings hit a record high of 6.7 million
- 58.7% of American businesses reported expansion
What they said: Payouts to American workers are “crumbs” and “pathetic”
In reality:
- More than 600 companies—and counting—have put millions of dollars in tax reform savings toward employee raises, bonuses, enhanced benefits, and more
- New withholding tables have led to larger paychecks
- American families of all types saved money on their taxes in April
- Wages increased by 2.7%
In the six months since tax reform was signed into law, American companies and families have flourished. And it’s only the beginning.
Yet Nancy Pelosi continues to spread obstructive rhetoric about it. She’s even said she and the Democratic Party would raise taxes on the middle class if they were in power.
Nancy Pelosi can say whatever she wants, the truth about tax reform remains unchanged.
