As he faces increased pressure for his extreme votes on national security, Rick Nolan sent out a statement from his government office, explaining that he does, indeed want to transfer the dangerous terrorists held at GITMO, a group that includes 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, to facilities in the “mainland” United States. Nolan went on to explain that he does not think keeping Americans safe is a good use of taxpayer money.

Nolan released this statement after voting yesterday against a bill that would temporarily prohibit further transfers of terrorists out of GITMO. This vote came a day after the Obama administration admitted that two more terrorists it released from GITMO had rejoined the fight against the United States and our allies.

Rick Nolan’s dangerous record on national security is not limited to GITMO, however. Nolan also supports Obama’s disastrous nuclear deal with Obama that is estimated to have already provided $37.4 million in funding for terrorist organizations, and has come under fire for his votes against raising pay for our troops, while voting for pay raise for himself.

NRCC Comment: “Rick Nolan is so out-of-touch when it comes to national security, he does not even try to hide the fact that he wants to close GITMO and bring the dangerous terrorists held there to U.S. soil.  Minnesotans deserve a Congressman who is focused on keeping them safe, not someone like Rick Nolan who would rather advance his extreme, far left agenda on foreign policy.” – NRCC Spokesman Bob Salera
