NRCC Weekly Rundown: New ads, Bill Clinton says Obamacare is crazy, John Katko takes a 19 point lead, and more!

October 7, 2016

run-down

And here’s this week’s edition of the NRCC Weekly Rundown:

National: The NRCC is on TV with new ads in CA-07, CA-25, CO-06, FL-18, FL-26, IA-01, IA-03, MI-01, MN-08, NE-02, NH-01, NV-03, NV-04, NY-19, NY-22, NY-24, TX-23, and VA-10.

National: NRCC Chairman Greg Walden appeared on Fox & Friends. Click HERE to watch!

National: Another week brought another story illustrating the folly of the Iran nuclear deal. The latest report shows that on the same day the Obama administration paid a cash ransom to Iran, they secretly agreed to lift sanctions on the Iranian banks that finance the country’s ballistic missile program.

National: The NRCC called on House Democrats and Democrat challengers to answer the “Hassan Question,” of whether they think Hillary Clinton is honest.

National: Obamacare has gone from “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it,” to “if you lose your health care plan Obama will pick a new one for you.” The Associated Press reported on the Obama administration’s plan to choose plans for customers when their insurer leaves the market as the health care exchanges continue their death spiral.

National: Bill Clinton created a headache for President Obama this week by speaking the truth on Obamacare. The former president called Obamacare a “crazy system” that has made insurance rates rise as coverage gets cut.

CA-25: Rep. Steve Knight and Beverly Hills trial lawyer Bryan Caforio began their series of debates this week. The NRCC suggested some topics that Caforio has yet to provide answers on, like his misleading descriptions of his legal practice, and his carpetbagging.

ME-02: Emily Cain took to the airwaves to lie to voters about one of her extreme policies brought to light by a new NRCC ad. Cain’s bill would have required schools to weigh students, including teenage girls, and report student weight to the government.

MN-02: Angie Craig is skipping a debate on Monday to attend a fundraiser with Nancy Pelosi. It’s probably for the best after the recent profile of Craig’s time in business that includes ripping off veterans and doling out hundreds of thousands in PAC money, as well as the announcement that Obamacare was raising health care premiums by 50% or more in Minnesota.

MN-08: Dangerous Rick Nolan gave himself a new nickname while telling Duluth that Hillary Clinton was “all about love.” Meanwhile, Dangerous Rick’s Super PAC allies recycled an already discredited attack ad, and the Iran nuclear deal he calls a “victory for diplomacy” was revealed to have secretly removed sanctions on Iranian banks that finance the country’s ballistic missile program.

NV-04: After the FBI subpoenaed records from The Ramirez Group, a firm where Ruben Kihuen is a principal, the NRCC called on Kihuen to return donations from his boss, Andres Ramirez. So far, Kihuen has refused.

NY-19: Zephyr Teachout is once again treating voters like they are dumb. In Teachout’s latest ad, she takes issue with being criticized for her support for the Iran nuclear deal and her opposition to a property tax cap, but the record shows that she does, in fact support the Iran nuclear deal, and called for an end to the property tax cap.

NY-24: A new poll from Time Warner Cable News and Siena College showed John Katko with a huge 19 point lead over Colleen Deacon.

PA-08: Steve Santarsiero lied in an op-ed in the Bucks County Courier Times. Slippery Steve wrote that he had never submitted for reimbursement for mileage from his hotel to the Capitol, despite records showing he did so 32 times.

TX-23: Will Hurd had his 5th bill signed into law by President Obama last week, while Pete Gallego talks about getting things done in Washington. Funny thing though, is that in his time in Washington, Gallego didn’t have a single bill signed into law.
